Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone ever watches or has seen Joan of arcadia? I watched a few episodes of it when it first came on, but I frankly didn't care for the way they portrayed God. At times, it made him seem cold, and even sarcastic. Then there was that one episode where he wanted her to destroy a boys' painting. It was apparently a good painting, and he was suppossedly a tallented artist. God told her to destroy the painting, and she did so, but he wouldn't explain why, and just told her if he had to explain it, it wouldn't be faith. All her friends turned against her, and she was crying at the end, and he didn't even try to comfort her, or tell her she did the right thing. Of course, if God did come down and talk to someone, he wouldn't be that way. I preferred shows like touched by an angel, andhighway to heaven. Any thoughts?

woooooo!!! thats my favorite show!! I love it. I love how god asks Joan to do the weirdest things but everything always works out in the end. If god didnt ask Joan to destroy adam's art then he would have gotten rich and went to a great college and they would no longer be together. they were ment to be together! I very much disagree with you, wonderwomen. I think its awesome and it strengthened my faith. also, might I add. Jason Ritter is really hot!

LOL.... The same message was posted twice! That is funny. Anyway, I have never heard of that show. It must be a good show.
gerrr i did that on accident....
Lol...Heather...You're funny...Iv'e never seen the show, but I saw Touched by an Angel once and it seemed pretty cool.
oh yes, I watched touched by an angel for several years, then I got involved in the nightlife of computing, so I missed the last episodes. I wonder why it was taken off.

I like the show, though i agree with Wonderwoman that it's not always realistic. It's really not meant to be though in my opinion. It's got its religious/philosophical moments (for example, little kid God as a lot of profound stuff to say), its funny/sarcastic moments (i.e. God as a popup ad), and its sad moments (i.e. Judith's death). It's got a little something for everyone, and as a result, isn't always completely together, but it's just a TV show.
Hi trivia, well yeah, I guess there's something in it for most people. Some people say God has a sense of humor, but I'm not sure, not altogether sure. There are even some religious book authors who say he has

I love Joan of Arcadia! it always makes me think about my faith and what I believe its a good chalenge. I view all my tv watching in that way. it needs to inform me chalenge me or be a good clean escape.
Hi Unicorn, I know what you're saying, but I think shows like highway to haven and touched by an angel were a better portrayal of God than Joan of Arcadia.

Well, I don't like the portrial of God in general on television, and haven't seen those shows, but it's cool you all like them.
